Is Ketamine-Assisted Therapy Right for Me?

A Trauma-Informed Perspective on Psychedelic Healing.

If you’ve been doing the work - therapy, self-reflection, journaling, medication, somatic practices - and still feel stuck in the same loops, you’re not alone. Many of my clients have said something like, “I know what’s happening, but I just can’t seem to shift it.”

Sometimes, we need a different doorway into healing. That’s where ketamine-assisted therapy (KAT/KAP) can offer something new.

What Is Ketamine-Assisted Therapy?

Ketamine-assisted therapy combines the therapeutic use of ketamine, a legal psychedelic medicine, with supportive, intentional psychotherapy. It offers a unique way to access deeper layers of awareness, shift long-held patterns, and support the nervous system in letting go of protective responses that are no longer needed.

Unlike traditional talk therapy alone, KAT can help soften rigid thought loops, increase emotional flexibility, and invite in new perspectives—even ones that may have felt unreachable before.

How Does It Work?

Ketamine alters brain function in a way that can reduce mental “stuckness” and support neuroplasticity. But the real power of this work isn’t just the medicine—it’s the container around it.

In my approach, ketamine is integrated into a trauma-informed, somatic therapy process that includes:

  • Preparation sessions to explore intention and nervous system readiness

  • Support during the medicine sessions, held in a safe and grounded space

  • Integration therapy to process insights and embody the shifts over time

The work is relational, paced with care, and always centered on your consent and comfort.

Who Might Benefit from Ketamine Therapy?

Ketamine-assisted therapy may be supportive if:

  • You’ve experienced trauma, depression, or anxiety that hasn’t fully shifted with traditional approaches

  • You feel disconnected, numb, or like you’re going through the motions

  • You’re navigating a life transition, burnout, or identity shift and want to explore more spaciousness and possibility

  • You’re curious about psychedelic therapy but want it held in a grounded, body-centered, and inclusive way

KAT is not for everyone, and that’s okay. A big part of my role is to help you explore whether it’s a supportive next step.

My Approach to Ketamine Therapy

I offer ketamine-assisted therapy in partnership with licensed prescribers, integrating it into my ongoing work with clients. My practice is rooted in somatic therapy, trauma healing, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care. I approach this work with deep respect for your body, your defenses, and your capacity for healing.

This isn’t about bypassing the hard stuff, it’s about creating space for your nervous system to feel, release, and reconnect in a new way.
